could google count all the instances each individual letter appears on the web and then rank them by most use? i had this strange thought that if an article is written with words that make more use of the most popular letter people will probably read it faster. if such assumption holds true then a new software algorithm can be made to suggest edits on long texts for faster reading.

If you are about to spend $1 bn to build a lavish 27-storey house and buy your wife a luxury Airbus jet, what's the point of giving yourself a 66% pay cut?

I am holding a copy of the Financial Times Weekend Edition and on the first page I read in big letters the title of the article, (read more)

Do you think we can fight video games addiction by making annoyingly monotonous versions of a video game, then have the game switch from the regular version to the monotonous one when a close friend, girlfriend, boyfriend or family member thinks we're getting too addicted to it? The benefit with extreme, annoying monotony is that the addict gets upset with the game and not with the people around him telling him he's addicted. He loses interest in the game 'naturally'. Any other ideas out there?

I never thought contacting you could be so yummy! The cards exist, I think it is an nice concept for a gift, the person who eats the card might certainly remember the taste of it (good or bad) but forget all about the contact details. In which case what does one do? Vomit? Browse the crap? Just kidding of course! Ok, the business person has to make sure the cookie or chocolate bar on which the contact details are devoured tastes good, is fresh and won't poison the recipient. If you must make the card memorable by taste you might have to buy several of them to satisfy individual tastes which makes it costly. Unless you are a chef! In that job it makes perfect sense to actually use it as a card. Perhaps all chefs should adopt them and it might be the perfect gift to give someone who is a cook :)

Why aren't there more plugs in airports to power your laptop longer while you wait for your flight? What's the point of offering wireless internet service everywhere in an airport when there aren't enough plugs around to power it longer?

This is bad business for companies that offer wireless internet service in airports. If I only had 1 hour of battery left in my laptop, I would only pay for 1 hour of internet service even though I could have paid more to stay online longer had there been more plugs around!

mount it on the wall and you have a story to tell about how you fought off a shark attack. a lot of girls will be impressed by it. what about a new surf shop where you can buy shark-bitten boards and skis, fake or real. usually genuine survivors of shark attacks would not part with their mementos but some of them might sell them for the right price. since there will be few of those surfers around there will be a need to create fake shark bites and scratches on the boards. the concept of showing off a personal sporting item that came out of a fight with an animal is something that doesn't yet exist and if you are not good making up a fancy story to sell to your friends then you can download one online or use the one that comes with the board you just bought!

After President Bush's apt ducking of two shoes thrown straight at him, the State of Texas announced that a shoe rack will heretofore be called a Shoeraq in memory of the incident and spelled as one word. Those hunting trips Bush took with Dick Cheney in Texas were a hell of a good training. If nothing fatal came out of dodging bullets thrown at him, they sure developed excellent reflexes in Bush. In Iraq, the government decided that the pair of shoes thrown at Bush will be auctioned and the billion dollar proceeds be sent out to GM, Ford and Chrysler as a first bailout handout so that their poor CEOs can fly back to Congress on private jets and ask for more money.
