I have always been intrigued by this quote from Cioran, a Romanian born 'philosopher' who went to live in Paris in the 1950's and switched to french as his language of expression.
I believe that I have a passion for music. I need to accompany every moment and mood of my life with a melody, my day is decided by which lyrics will appear in my head as I wake up and I am constantly looking for new musical experiences.
I have encountered people, however, for whom music is just background noise and I have always felt that we were not able to communicate at some very basic level.
I am not emitting any value judgement, as Cioran always does, I am just interested in knowing about the experiences other people may have had in relation to their love - or lack thereof - for music and how this may have influenced the people they befriended.
